MOCK EXAMS

Is your child missing out on proven exam tips taught by PSLE markers and oral examiners?

Are you concerned that your child’s school sets exam papers that are too easy or too difficult?

How does your child compare with students of other schools?

Benefits of Cognitus Mock Exam

Students are not scoring well in exams because they do not get accurate feedback from schools after exams. Without knowing where their weaknesses lie, students find it difficult to correct their mistakes and make improvement.

Through school exams, you know how your child is doing among his or her schoolmates. However, the Mock Exam conducted at Cognitus Academy will provide an additional layer of benchmarking for you to gauge how your child performs among students from a wide range of schools.

Diagnosis and Assessment

Our mock exams will follow closely to the format and assessment criteria of exam papers set by MOE schools. Set and reviewed by former MOE teachers and PSLE markers, our Mock Exams aim to accurately assess your child’s current standard and identify areas of urgent improvement.

Remediation and Improvement

Through a comprehensive feedback and correction session, our teachers will analyse your child’s performance vis-à-vis the cohort that has attempted the same Mock Exam

In addition, the teacher will impart top exam tips and secrets to prepare your child better for the next English exam. Knowing your child’s weaknesses is insufficient unless we also help them improve. Therefore, we have included four sessions of our weekly English lessons to the Mock Exam package.

Here’s how it works

Your child will sit for a full English exam covering Oral, Listening Comprehension, Paper 1 and Paper 2 over two days.

Our teachers will mark and provide individualised feedback on your child’s performance.

Below is a sample of part of the report that will be generated for each Cognitus' student.

They will also receive an itemised report for the entire paper. Your child will know exactly what types of questions they are getting wrong. Click here to see available timeslots for Feedback Sessions.

Students will attend a 90-minute feedback session where teachers go through corrections and refine their answering techniques.

Important note: To fully maximise your child’s learning during the Feedback Session, we highly recommend ONE parent to accompany your child during the session.

Finally, your child will attend four sessions of our current weekly lessons to plug the gaps in their knowledge, and experience how the Critical Reading and Writing (CRW) Strategy is applied in English.

If the four sessions do not sufficiently plug your child’s gaps in learning, supplementary materials will be provided.
